Book report of Pride and Prejudice

Pride and Prejudice is one of Jane Austen's representative works.This book is considered as the treasure of the world library and is one of the world's ten great classics.The author Jane Austen is a famous British female novelist.She established a new style in her novels. Her novels always sarcastically uncover people's ridiculous weakness through comic scenes.In the book Pride and Prejudice,Jane Austen described the daily life of rural middleclass and the rural scenery,and on this background,she narrated a circuitous moving love story besides filled with wisdom.

Character images in this book are rich and colorfull.Mrs Bennet is greedy and admire vanity,making her each daughter married is her only expectation all her life.Mr Bennet is a family-ariented old gentleman,indifferen to fame and wealth and like reading silently.The eldest daughter Jane is beautiful,gentle and quiet.The second daughter Elizabeth is generous,intelligent and beautiful.The third daughter Mary is not so beautiful as his sisters but is dilligent in study,and this lead to his arrogant attitude.The fourth daughter Kitty like dancing and is always discourtesy but herself isn't aware of.Their little daughter Lydia is very foolish and enjoys dancing and making fun with millitary officer.The main male role Fitzwilliam Darcy is a serious man and poor at his words.He always gives people the impression of arrogance and pride,however he is warmhearted inward.His friend Charles Bingley is a gentle,honest and generous rich man. George Wickham is handsome and gentle,but in fact ,he is a despicable man and owes a lot of money because of gamble.

One day, Charles Bingley moved near their home. On a dancing party,he fell in love with Jane,actually they fell in love with each other.While Bingley’s friend Fitzwilliam Darcy fell in love with Elizabeth unconsciously.Because of Bennet familly’s indecent status,their love was hindered.Besides,Elizabeth have stong prejudice against Darcy becausse of his arrogant attitude at the beginning, later she was cheated by Wickham,her prejudice against Darcy was stronger.

This novel mainly acounted how Elizabeth’s prejudice was removed and Darcy’s arrogant attitude was changed. Elizabeth was very regretful for her prejudice against Darcy after she read the lettle from him which uncover the truth about Wickham.The second summer, Elizabeth followed her uncle and aunt to Darcy’s manor, she met him again. She discovered that Darcy had changed, not only was courtesy but also respectul for the local people very much, She removed the prejudice on him. At the right time, Elizabeth received a letter from her parents .It’s said that Lydia was elopement with

Wickham.Elizabeth was very embarrassed to make such a disgrace that Darcy will despise them. But to her surprice, Once Darcy knew the news, he not only helped Wickham to pay off the debts,but also gived him a lot of money in order to let Wickham get married with Lydia,it was such a great help to her whole family!Since then, Elizabeth was very moved and grateful,she changed the prejudice against Darcy to ture love from then on.At the same time,Jane got engaged to Bingley after the misunderstanding was cleared.

After finishing reading this novel,I learned a lot from from it.First, We can not have prejudice against someone blindly.To understand a people,you can’t only through others’expression about him,you must perceive reality by youself.Second,It is wrong to get married for the property, money and position,true love is beyond such factors.The last aspect,when we realize the mistake we make,we must acknowledge is bravely and immediately ,then make it for the better.
