Grammar

What does she look like? She is tall.

She is a tall girl.She has long hair. Her hair is long.

Describing things with adjectives 用形容词描述人或物时，可以放在名词前面， 也可以放在系动词后面。

一、形容词+名词 (形容词放在名词之前作定语) 系动词+形容词(形容词放在系动词之后作表语) 常用的系动词有： be, smell, sound, look(看起来), taste,… … 起来，感官动词

become , get, turn, keep, feel, seem…

1.The song sounds good.

2. This is a popular song.3. Her face turned red.

4. We are all clever students.5. My mother looks happy today.

The first pig is quite fat.

The second pig is much fatter.

The third pig is the fattest of all.

Comparatives and superlatives 形容词有三种级别: 原级,比较级和最高 级, 表示形容词说明的性质在程度上的 不同。形容词的比较级用于两个人或事物的 比较, 最高级用于三个或三个以上人或 事物的比较。

二、形容词比较级和最高级的变化规则 A 规则变化

一般情况下直接 加”er”或者”est”

以“e”结尾的形容 词直接加”r”或者 “st”以辅音字母+“y”结尾 的形容词把“y”改“i” 加“er”或“est”

三、原级：1. very,so,quite,too只能修饰原级。 I’m very hungry. The skirt is too old.

2.as+原级+as “和……一样”用于同级之间相比较。 否定形式：not as/so…as “不如”

Amy is as tall as Peter. This film isn’t as/so interesting as that one.

四、比较级 1.比较级用于两者相比较，

(much/a lot/ even)比较级 + than +主格/宾格 /简短句子 much, a lot, even只能修饰比较级，而a little+原级/比较级。如：Daniel is a little taller than Kitty. I’m a little hungry.

She is much more careful than I/me/I am. 2. 表示“(两者之 中)哪一个更……”时，用句型 “

Which / Who is +比较级…, A or B?”。 Which sweater is cheaper, the red one or the yellow one? 3. 比较级+比较级

表示“越来越……”

thinner and thinner, more and more difficult 4. the + 比较级表示“两者之中较……的一个”

五、最高级 1. 三者或三者以上的人或物进行比较时，用形容词

最高级形式。形容词最高级前通常需加定冠词the, 句末常接in / of短语来表示范围。 He is the strongest of all the boys. 2. 表示“最……之一”时，用 “one of + the + 最高 级+名复”。 Lily is one of the most beautiful girls in my class. 3.表示“(三者之 中)哪一个最……”时，用句型 “ Which / Who is +最高级…, A, B or C?”
