(1) Status and functionMy topic today is listening and speaking of unit8 from English Book I of Basic Module. It is published by Higher Education Press. This unit is a topic about asking the way. This lesson is the first one of unit8. So if the students can learn the lesson well, it will be helpful to make the students learn the rest of this unit . Such topic is related to our daily life, I think it is helpful to raise learning interests of students and it will be also helpful to improve their spoken English.
(2) Teaching aims and demandsKnowledge aimsTo make the students master the sentence patterns. To use the imperative sentences according to giving position commands.
Ability aimsTo improve the students’ listening and speaking abilities by learning the dialogues. To develop the students’ communicative ability by asking the way and giving directions.
Moral aimTo enable the students to understand the different contexts of help and answer courtesy differences.

How to make the students master the sentence patterns very well. How to help the students use the imperative sentences correctly.

The students are learning English for the exams.Their speaking ability is much lower than reading ability.
Being not confident
They are too shy to speak English so they can’t speak fluently (some even can’t open their mouths).
